Tourney Report from Organizers
Tourney Report

This is a fun version of cricket with seven-a-side teams and seven overs per innings.

The tournament started a little late (around 12:00 noon) and carried on till early morning 5:00 am. It was a taxing 18 hrs on the field, but the team came through because of the enthusiasm and commitment by all the eight players. Considering the fact the many teams strrugled to keep their seven members of the team, its a notable mention that CCC had the luxury of a reserve player, through out.

CCC won all games it played. The preliminary rounds, quarters, semis and Finals.

Results:

CCC bt Kirti Team by 4 wickets
- Chasing 21; 22/3 in 5.1
CCC bt Bharat Team by 5 wickets
- Chasing 43; 44/2 in 6.1
CCC bt KLPD team by 21 runs
- Target set - 56 ; KLPD 35/5 in 7
CCC bt Dayton CC by 3 Wickets
- Chasing 14; 15/3 in 4.2
CCC bt Team 102 (OSU CC team 1) by 30 runs
- Target set - 66 ; Team 102 - 36/5 in 7
CCC bt Alcoholix (OSU CC team 2) by 4 wickets
- Chasing 27; 28/2 in 5.1

It was an allround performance and all were comfortable wins (more or less). The fact Sean never got to bat and Ajay/Venky for only a few balls, vouches for our teams depth and clinical chasing ability.

Manju came through with several crucial match winning shots and catches with useful contributions from Ravi. Rammohan as usual proved to be the opponent batsman's nemesis with his run outs. Srinath and Rammohan, as usual were our best bowlers with Sean and Ajay taking care of the wicket keeping.

Due to the recent busting of illegal player-bookie nexus, luckily no matchfixing was attempted :-) *kidding*

So CCC successfully defends its 1999 crown. Lets hope the 2001 title is ours too.
