CCC won their Saturday game Vrs Nationwide CC, by 6 wickets.
Nationwide batted first and compiled 138 Runs in 25 overs. Srinivas
Muddala made 48.
Debutant Naresh Vadrevu bowled well for CCC and got the prize wicket of
Pankaj who was looking dangerous with a big six on the off side. Manish
Acharya, playing his first game of this season also bowled well. Manoj
and Vishal had good outings on the field.
Wicket takers were:
Ajay - 1, Manju -2, Naresh - 1, Bharat - 3 and Sekhar - 1. Two runouts
by Manju/Abhi. Three stumpings by Abhi. Two good catches by Vishal Saboo.

CCC started the chase rather disappointingly, losing the unlucky Salim
early. Vindy(33), first with Abhi (22) and then with Manju (49*) was
invloved in crucial partnerships to keep the chase going smoothly.
Nationwide fought back with the wickets of Abhi and Vindy. Manju then
took over and with some crisp running with Vishal, got CCC to very close
the the target. Things got interesting when the match was evenly poised
with CCC needing 13 runs of the last two overs. With 7 wickets in hand,
CCC held the slight edge. But the pitch was keeping low and was not
conducive to big hitting. The first three balls from Muddala were dot
balls. Pressure mounting, Manju counter attacks and get a 4, 2 and a
single in the next three balls.Six runs needed in Six balls!
First ball, Manju takes off for a single, hesitation! .. mis-field! ...
and in the ensuing melee, the batsmen manage to get one run. But as
Vishal turns around to check the possibility of a second run (off a
misfield), the fielder's throw hits the stumps right-on. For that split
second, Vishal lifts his bat in the air and Leg Umpire Manish is right
on top of that decision. Vishal Run out!
Five runs neede of Five balls!
Ajay comes in and makes a mockery of the pressure situation, hits the
very first ball extremely hard for a racing boundary. The balls grazes
Deepak's hands and still makes it to the boundary on a slow outfield.
Next ball, Ajay gets a single and completes the formality. As all of us
(including the scorer) came to know later, at the end of it, Manju was
stranded, one short of a well deserved 50.

Exciting Game. Good Win.

Men of the Match:
VINDY KUMAR for his patient knock of 33, making sure CCC would have
enough wickets in hand to see through the chase.
MANJUNATH KRISHNAPPA for a solid half century (almost) and for his
brilliant fielding .
